Description

Prepare, Strengthen Serve

ABCNJ invites you to COAL 2017 as we prepare our hearts for ministry, strengthen our passion for Kingdom work, and recommit ourselves to serving this world in Jesus’ name.

Attendees can chose to pursue one of several foci.

Christian Education

Creative Bible Study – Rev. Gina Jacobs-Strain & Elaine Cody

Leading Interactive Bible Studies (L.I.B.S. ™) is a 2-hour workshop designed to enhance your Bible teaching tool kit, so that all participants in your Bible Study Classes will be inspired to persist in study and personal application of the Word of God. In the first session, we will introduce the components of the L.I.B.S. ™ template. In the second session, guided by the Holy Spirit, participants will utilize the L.I.B.S.™ template to prepare, present, and create a Bible Study during the workshop. Each participant will share highlights of the Bible Study and receive feedback from classmates and workshop leaders.

Institutional Administration

Church Budgeting – Ania Norori

Participants will learn how to analyze the former and current year's budgets in order to make informed allocating decisions while formulating the next year's budget. Participants will also learn how to calculate more accurate projections based on actual inflow in order to eliminate or minimize the possibility of a budget deficit. Participants will be able to apply the tools and resources learned in this session to create and maintain their church budget.

Congregational Care

Cross Cultural Leadership - Rev. Louis Ao

Reaching out to people of other nationalities is no longer only for those Christians called to go overseas. It is now for those Christians who have been called to take the Gospel message to their neighbors. In this seminar, we will discuss transformational leadership strategies and counter-culture leadership skills to minister effectively in a multi-culture ministry/church.

Prisoner Re-Entry, Stations of Hope – Rev. Estelle David

Participants in this workshop will learn how to be a church that serves as a healing and teaching refuge, offering a renewed vision for returning citizens, their families and communities.

New Church Development

When the New Is Not So New Anymore – NCD Panel

What happens when leaders lose steam? Come and share in the conversation with other church planters.

A welcoming space, new churches and established congregations – NCD Panel

Come and hear stories of how pastors of established ABCNJ churches are joining with new church plants to create a vibrant mission in the neighborhood. Learn from their experiences of sharing space and resources, and be encouraged by their cross-cultural bonds of friendship in Christ.

Pastor's Track – Mr. Paul Msiza, President, Baptist World Alliance
